AIR VENT
An air vent is a space generally in a wall, which allows air to pass through and installing air vents helps to promote this air flow.

FIRE ROPE
Woven glass fibre rope is suitable for sealing doors and lids on solid fuel stoves and boilers. As many stove collars are often larger than the stove pipe, it can be used to first fill most of the gap before the application of fire-cement.

FIRE CEMENT
Fire-cement is finely ground putty-like material which is resistant to high temperatures. It sets rock-hard when exposed to heat or at room temperature, although the process takes longer the lower the temperature. Premium Fire Cement will ensure both smoke and gas tight joints.

SMOKE PELLET
The purpose of the smoke test is to discover if there are any major defects which can cause a leak of fumes through the chimney or flue structure during normal operation. A smoke test should be carried out by a qualified person using the following procedure which is based on the test described in British Standard BS6461:Part 1.

CO ALARM
A carbon monoxide detector or CO detector is a device that detects the presence of the carbon monoxide gas (CO) in order to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

HIGH TEMPERATURE SPRAY PAINT (up to 650°C)

If you choose to backfill your liner in a chimney we would recommend using LECA. Vermiculite backfill will settle after time and can leave cold voids around the installed chimney liner.

DATA PLATE
Used to record information about the appliance installer, the installation and the product used. The data plate should be fitted somewhere safe in the house, ie. next to the electric meter for instance.
